SANTIAGO.- The Police Investigation Department (SIP) of the National Police Force has captured a group composed of four men and two women that had been robbing department stores in downtown Santiago.
According to information reported by Radio Cooperativa, the individuals had been helped by a security guard from one of the stores, who informed them –using a stolen cell phone- when other guards were present and also aided them in stealing clothing and other items.
To avoid being identified, the group used what are known as "bionic backpacks", which according to Capitan Roberto Contreras consist of "bag made of aluminium foil (…) that jams the security devices at the store entrances".
