It is for his own protection". With regards to the incidents that took place last night as the bus arrived with the presumably infected passenger, Bresca contended that "what happened upon arrival was terrible and incomprehensible". "If we look at it from a point of view of someone who is uninformed when it comes to the scale of the illness, it is understandable, but in any case there...

SANTIAGO.– After Apple began selling the iPhone online at a discount in the United States, a national company has decided to follow the trend. This discount offer is a clear sign to the industry that Apple is probably getting rid of its stock before introducing the newest model. The local company is Claro, and they are inviting all owners of the iPhone 2G (which was never officially sold in Chile) to exchange it for a 3G for the price of $29,000 pesos for the 8GB model and $32,990 pesos for the 16GB model. The old cell phones are maintained with the prepaid system. According to the company, this initiative looks to expand the iPhone 3G platform even more. The arrival of a new model seems to be imminent. In fact, company executives have not even attempted to deny the idea that Apple renews the iPhone family every year, specifically in June, when Apple developers get together for their...

This news was met with a firm refutation from Lima, where Minister of Foreign Affairs José Antonio García Belaúnde reiterated that the lawsuit filed by Peru at The Hague does not involve Ecuador. "The litigation process at The Hague is only between Peru and Chile, and does not involve Ecuador or any other country", affirmed the official in response to comments made by his Ecuadorian counterpart, Fander Falconí. Falconí had stated that the 1954 and 1952 agreements are "boundary treaties" not "fishing agreements" and that his country was willing to testify in favor of Chile. In declarations made to Agencia Andina, García Belaúnde claimed that the statements made by his Ecuadorian counterpart "are nothing new", since on...
